The master plan for the new Moffett Place urban campus is designed to be dense, well connected, enriched by signature amenities, offer a diversity of experiences, infrastructural integration, and environmental harmonization. The constructed campus is a technical achievement. The site is highly programmed including a diverse range of spaces for sports, activities, and social interaction. A strong ground plane unites the site, generating a distinct and cohesive identity. Extensive subsurface infrastructure was adapted to support the new public realm. A robust storm water treatment system is embedded into the design of the site. An urban forest provides shade, shelter, habitat values, and filters air and noise pollution. And a plant palette native to the Santa Clara Valley positions the campus as an urban habitat, serving as a strong departure from the typical suburban campus model.
